Potato drills

    Hi I have a 2m wide by 6 m long bed how many rows/drills of potatos should I plant 2 or 3 I am planning to get the seed potato in ground this week , thanks in advance as always

    Potatoes 1 ft apart and rows two foot apart and 6 inches deep. Have you chitted them first if so place the sprouts upwards. Search potato growing on your search engine and click on the RHS web site excellent advice there and I am sure many reading your request will supply you with further information. By the way I found they like sitting on a bed of manure as it keeps their toes warm!

      Depends on which potatoes, for main crop the spacings @waterbut suggests are good, for earlies I would decrease, around 18" between rows and 8" between seed tubers.

      So I got my hands in soil the navan potatos lovely healthy sprouts just under soils surface, rooster potatos no growth and looks like slugs etc have been eatting them, so the patch withe the rooster potatos is roughly 2 by 3 ish meters do I replant potatos on the plot different varity our should I plant something else , I have just sown courgettes in pots hopefully get 7 plants our I have sown dahlia seeds will I turn it in to a dahlia bed , it's a slightly windy spot but gets sun all day nothing shadows it, thanks in advance
