potato help/advice please

    good afternoon peeps

    so excited just dug up my spuds out of the container and got quit5e a few so decided to grow some more !!!

    but............. i can't seem to find any about only suttons or t&M that want �£10 with the p&p for about 20 seed potatoes does anybody know of anywhere to get them from looked up 2nd seed potatos but not much luck and none on ebay :0(

    another question is if i bought some from the supermarket and left them to sprout could i use them ?

    Hi Cattwoman.I think you are a bit late now for planting some more spuds as most people are harvesting them now like yourself.

    If you want some for xmas there are firms that are supposed to do seed potatoes especially for planting this time of the year ready for xmas harvesting.

    You could use the shop bought ones but they take so long to grow for harvesting you might not get much of a crop.You could always try,see what you get then use that as experience for next year.Good Luck

    Hi cattwoman25,you can use your first earlies you`ve dug up to have spuds for christmas.Just plant them in a warm spot and look after them in the normal way.In late september cover the plants with large clotches.

    Hi Catt, I agree with elaine use some of your earlies. If you don`t want to put them in the ground then grow them in big pots (15 or 20 litres) 2 or 3 to a pot. That way you can move them into the greenhouse or elsewhere if bad weather threatens. David.

    Should still be able to get 1st & 2nd Earlies from Taylors.

    Have a search on the internet.
