Potatoe Storage

    Does anyone store potatoes in sacks not hessian but ( potato sacks ) which they use in supermarkets and my other question is i have put dry compost in layers in the bags do ou think this okay.

    Hi Golfer,

    I save the paper potato sacks & re use them. Main thing is to keep them somewhere cool to stop them sprouting.

    I use the pill box for that.

    How dry is "dry" - is there absolutely no moisture at all in it?

    Well tyhe only thing i can say the compost was in a bag and i spresd it out and it was in thesun and i kept turning it over so i would say very dry do you beleive it will be okay.

    They have to be in the dark too, so make sure you turn the top of the bag over - otherwise they will go green.

    Thanks for advice have clcosed the bag up.
