Potatoes like Jacks beanstalk

My potato plants have grown to around 4ft tall they`ve now formed flower buds but the buds are dropping off, i`m worried if they`ve maybe put all thier effort into growing tall and leafy and i`m going to have no spuds, first time growing Potatoes i planted them on April 16th from bought seed Potatoes

 

My first earlies put up buds that dropped off before blooming, and I'm getting loads of really nice new potatoes. Have a look at one plant. You might be pleasantly surprised.

If they are a First Early variety then they need about 13 weeks ... I started harvesting my first early Arran Pilot at 9 weeks. The plants were massive, compared to my other Spuds.

 

Thanks to all, i think i better leave them in a bit longer then,"King Edwards" not sure wether their earlies, i`m an absolute beginner on veggies, hope you`re right Freddy our garden looks like the land of the triffids, I wish i`d found this site earlier it`s very good!
