I planted some seed potatoes in early March; the variety was Rocket, now I know they're an early and having grown them for the last 2 years I know they're usually ready around the first 2 weeks in June, but I have just noticed the odd flower buds already (they're not heavy bloomers anyway) and I've earthed them up twice already and been keeping them well watered in the recent hot weather.

I planted some left over ones in potato sacks and they're equally rampant, they've been earthed three times!!!

I just wondered whether anyone else is experiencing rapid potato growth?

Yes mine are really big, I took the flowers off mine last week and plan to dig up the first root on Easter Sunday.

I've had one "bag", planted 15-Feb, and although we had a nice meal off them they were probably a week or 10 days early. (Arran pilot)
