I have some late potato seeds that I planted in August. The instructions said that I was to protect them from frosts in Oct, Nov and Dec and that I should have nice new potatoes for xmas. They also said that the plants might flower and this is a sign that they are mature and ready to harvest. Well I've had flowers for a couple of weeks now.

Should I get out there and dig some up or is it too early? I've been putting it off. Think I'm a little scared they won't have grown. Daft I know :)

    morning little miss,

I'm no expert but I believe potatoes need a minimum of 12 weeks in the ground ( I could be wrong) and I made the mistake in summer of digging some up once they'd flowered and got tiny ones that would have matured if I'd left them in.

I'd still wait for advice from experts, I'll be looking to see if I'm right :)
