This may not be gardening as such......because my problem is that I can't get into potting shed to prepare for potting / sowing! The door won't budge as it appears to be swollen. It is treated but that makes no difference to it, it won't open. I've found out that people on here have very varied experience and can make suggestions to all sorts of queries - but fear my start to spring may be delayed.....

You probably need to force it open, then either plane a bit off it or get someone to do it for you.

It will shrink back when we get a spell of dry weather, but as it's a potting shed I doubt a bit of a draught will matter in summer.;):)

Thank you....but how to force? There's no gap to get any leverage and I pulled the handle as hard as I dared

Hi JJ28, you could try WD40 sprayed all around the edge of the door. Can you remove the hinges if they are on the outside? A thin but strong screwdriver driven into the gap and try and leaver it open that way....Well there are three things to do on Sunday:love30:

WD40 brill idea, thank you. Will have a go at that tomorrow. I think too much paint over hinges but will suggest to daughter's bf as last resort....I'm supposed to clear shed so he can fit me in a potting shelf along the length of it.

Or maybe if they do they'll manage to get the door open ;)
