Hi chums. I have 2 roses that are affected by this stuff. Having looked through the 'sticky' on pests and diseases, I wasn't able to ascertain whether or not I should do anything about it now, or wait until next year.
    Any help appreciated.

    Cheers...freddy.

Cause is probably the prolonged period of dry weather. Spraying is April to September. Cultural solution is to mulch the ground in the spring and restrict use of hign nitrogen fertiliser. Gleaned from Buczacki.

Personally I would carry out the usual autumn prune now and again in the spring and follow the cultural advice next year.

Shame as there are still lots of buds still due to flower

Hi. Thanks for the reply, sorry I didn't come back sooner (been away on hols). As it's a climbing rose only in it's first year, I won't be pruning, but otherwise I'll follow your advice.
    Cheers...freddy.
