I bought some of the lovely bicoloured primrose recently for the first time - I think is it the glory fantastique series. I have kept them inside where they smell so nice and look so pretty, but the flowers are starting to go over now.

If I repot and dead head, will they continue to bloom, or is that it for this year? I know they are supposed to be perennial, but do they thrive well and increase outside like species tulips, or do they disappear after a couple of years like hybrid tulips?

primroses do well outside in my experience, all year round - but maybe they could do with a rest from flowering from time to time. Obviously you'd have to acclimatise them, but I don't see why they shouldn't flower for you later on this year outside.
