Not exactly propagation- more serendipity. I sowed primroses last year, went through all the palaver of putting them in fridge etc- nothing happened. So I left the tray outside and forgot about it. Builders tipped it up while having a bonfire, so I piled the soil back in and forgot about it again. Just found it and there are about 20 little tiny primroses! Makes up for all the ones that have failed! ;)

It's amazing the trouble we go to to get seeds to germinate.. then nothing and then come up when forgotten, I had the same with tree peonies. :D

I'm trying exactly that - I've bunged in some tree peonies in the ground, and am doing my very best to forget all about them - and was managing quite well, unitl you two reminded me!!

I planted some mimulus seeds in a tray last year and nothing happened.

Later in the summer, the patio was covered in them from seeds which had dropped from hanging baskets the previous year.
