Hi'a All I've just joined the forum, and not being what you would call an experienced gardener, i wondered if anyone knows how to cure the problem of moss growing on tarmac, its my car space and its always in the shade

The moss grows like a velvet carpet, although its nice to see a lush green colour at this time of year, its a pain in the bum.

    all solutions welcome

    thanks
    Kevin

Pathclear should deal with this - just ensure it does not have contact with nearby beds.

Jeyes Fluid is better, we use it on our Apple trees to kill all the nastys and it's great. Be careful with pathclear as if you have any big tress nearby and the roots run under your drive it may sink down and eventually kill them, it happened to my friend and her neighbours were not happy.

Both Jeyes Fluid and Armillotox are no longer allowed to be sold or recommended as moss killers. The fines for misuse are quite large, so do be careful about the advice given to people.
Pathclear is a weedkiller. I am not sure of its ability to kill moss though.
