I recently tried to update a programme that was put on my pc by the bloke that sorted out a virus for me a couple of years ago.
    Its called Adaware from Lavasoft.

Well I dont think the update worked as it should, and since then my pc is running very slow.

I've tried to uninstall Adaware but it wont have it, no go.

So how do I manually uninstall this?

    Any help appreciated.

Have you used the uninstall exe or have you tried through control panel? What OS are you using?

Just checked my Ad Aware by Lavasoft . It does not have an uninstall file in the program file. If you are using a windows OS , you should be able to uninstall it using "control panel " "add or remove programs " . I have just uninstalled mine without a problem. Its freeware so I can get the latest issue tomorrow.

    Thanks both of you.

    I'm using windows Axl

I've tried the usual route of uninstall programmes from the control panel and it gets half way and stalls.

    Nothing happens.

Ok you can either try a clean install of adaware then once finished try to uninstall it as usual or you may well have a corrupt definitions file. If a clean install doesn't work you need to find the file; core.aawde

    Navigate to it using the following path;

    My Computer
    Local Disc C:
    Documents and Settings
    All Users
    Application Data
    Lavasoft
    Adaware

Once in the Adaware folder find the file core.aawde and delete it. Then try to uninstall.

If this doesn't work you can do it manually. I can talk you through that if you like.
