I'm really pleased with myself today. Got some actual genuine progress in the back garden.

For months now, my back garden has just been a freshly dug barron mess. I levelled off the new lawn area last week, then today seeding began.

Figuring I didn't want to walk all over the seedbed, I used some spare patio squares that I have to make a temporary path onto the seedbed. I made it sort of curved so that I could reach the whole area to be seeded easily with the rake. I literally just laid the stones fairly haphazardly. The wife came out to see what I was doing, saw my path and commented 'I really like your path, it looks really nice'. Surprised, I took a step back from what I was up to and had a look. She's right, I've accidentally made it look really nice, and it makes the garden look bigger and less square. Its also given me a load of new ideas about how to lay the garden out longer term.

So for 10 minutes effort for purely functional reasons, the whole plan has quite by accident just dropped into place.

Oh, and I got the lawn seed down too, so well pleased.

Just goes to show that often it doesn't work when you are too 'precise', I have also just plonked something down and surprised myself at the result!!! :)

Well at least you didn't use the method for making the distribution of bulbs look natural i.e. throwing them over your shoulder!! If the Boss approves it can't be bad, got your self an attractive path and made her happy - enjoy the moment!!:thumb::heehee:

    Eeuugh,

"Freshly dug Barron mess" is worse than Knights mess:heehee::WINK1:

Thats good Dave, glad you are making progress with a bit of serendipity thrown in.

I had a nice comment from the Mrs a few weeks back, she noticed that our plot was "very productive" for the size of it.

Pity she hasn't learned to cook anything from it really:DOH:
