Hi all, In August 2013 I made some cuttings to propagate brachyglottis sunshine and Euonymus fortunei 'Emerald 'n' Gold.

I did the usual process, cuttings all in one pot, then when rooted I put them in their own pots. They have been kept in a cold frame all this time.

Now, in March 2014, they are looking really healthy and strong in their own pots. But what next? They are still single shoots sticking out of the ground and in the last two weeks they have just sprouted at the tips. When do they fill out? I'm new to this so not sure?

All the guides tell you how to make the cuttings, but it's really hard to find information on what next? How long do I keep them in those small pots? In the cold frame? When can I plant them out? When is the best time to plant out? Or do I plant them next into larger pots until they get bigger? How large do they need to be? Is it best to keep them in pots until they are the size they would be form a garden centre?

Sorry if this is really obvious.

    Hi Noushynoo,

I'd nip the tops off the Euonymous and you'll find that they start to bush out in time and pot on when you can see the roots starting to appear from the bottom of the pot:blue thumb:
