    Hi all,

I have recently moved house and there is a handy existing concrete base in the back garden, where a 4’x6’ greenhouse could be neatly sited. As you can see from the attached photo it will only get sun on half of it for 5 hours and full sun in the morning for 2 hours. Would this be enough sun for successful growing of say tomato’s, cucumbers and growing bedding plants? F92ECFFE-A732-4362-944A-7ED95C4C1D23.jpeg

Hi and Welcome to the Forum

It might be enough in high summer, but later in the year the light level will be rather low ...?

Can you site it on the other side which looks like it will get more light year round.

A common saying when buying a greenhouse , get the biggest you can afford as once the bug bites you often find you need more space.
Plus a 6x4 is quiet small yet the price will not be that far off the most popular size 8x6 .

Basil loves partial sun and so do many other plants if you're wanting to use that ready concrete.

I have two of those 4x6 greenhouses as that is the only size that would fit on the deck down the side of my house and I can grow lots in there but not tomatoes or cucumbers.

Check your seed catalogues for plant requirements and how much space they will need. Lots in there suitable for your idea. :)

      Welcome to the forum!
