    I have been given some Protea seeds with minimal instructions in a foreign language. Can someone advise please .on condition required.

    We've been having a bit of a disscussion on proteas a while back, look here,

    Anyway as regards germination, it generally accepted that they germinate better if given smoke treatment, you can buy discs of paper inpregnated with smoke.
    I tend to just water the sown seeds with water containing bonfire ash.

    It worked for me, keeping them growing after that is a bit more of a challenge.
