Pruned Hydrangeas

    I cut the old flower heads off the hydrangeas yesterday, just back to the first double buds, and they were covered in snow this morning - I hope they will be ok :(

    Don't suppose it will do any harm now unless it gets much colder but the dead heads do offer a bit of protection [​IMG]

    with a bit of luck there will still be buds lower down, even if the highest ones are affected by frost [​IMG]

    I was always advised not to do it until May started - and that was down south - so I suppose that'd be ok for Somerset!! Whatever you do, don't cut off any bits that go black if we do get more frosts - wait until May - as they'll give some protection!! Have fun, and look forward to lovely warm weather! :D
