Pruning Calluna Vulgaris

    Evening all,

    I got some heather's in the winter last year, and noe have planted them in planters last week. When should i be pruning these, there seems to be so much mis information also how how far should i cut back?

    And anybody any idea what kind these are?

    The last one looks dead, but I just give a light trim after flowering so if winter flowering, nowish.

    I thought calluna are spring/summer flowers? If they're the case should i leave them be till September?.

    Also i thought it was dead but wasn't sure as its still orange
