    Hello all

    I Hope you are Well.

I have nearly Finished Tidying the Shrubs, however.....

I have Three Choisya ternata Sundance in the Garden, One in the Back Garden and Two in the Front.

They have, unfortunately been left to themselves for the last Couple of Years and need Tidying.

They are all approximately 4' Tall, so not too large, just untidy.

I would like to Prune them to a Dome Shape, is that feasible?

If so, when would be the Best Time to Prune them?

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

I usually prune mine straight after its flowers fade, so probably around late spring/early summer. It then quickly makes new growth, usually multiple new shoots from just below each cut. But then, I'm not going for a dome shape. I prefer my shrubs more natural/open, and with the choisya I leave it fairly tall at the back so it hides the fence, but keep it fairly "flat" so it doesn't hang forward over too much of the border.
If you prune earlier you might not get flowers this year (or you might get a few late ones on the new growth, mine sometimes does that) but if you're growing them for the foliage that might not matter to you. And if you prune too early, the soft new regrowth can get damaged by frost.
