I have an outdoor fuschia in the garden. I was going to prune it in autumn, but it hadn't finished flowering. Then the snow came and the dead flowers are still on the branches.

Should I just prune it as soon as possible and how much do I prune?

    I'd leave it until spring.
It could well be dead down to ground level due to the frosts, so pruning will not have much effect.

What kind of fuchsia is it?
I would leave well alone just now.
Wait until spring /late spring then look at it.
You might find it is breaking all the way up the branches, in which case just prune it to whatever size you want it to be.
If no breaks up the branches then look at ground level. You might see growth coming from underground.
If that is the case you can prune it to ground level and it will come from there.
But don't rush. Wait until June before you decide whether it is alive or not.
Good luck to you and me both. It has been a hard winter.

As Pete and Alice suggest leave well alone ..until late spring .It will more than likely start to show signs of growth by then and you can prune accordingly .. Older plants are usually hard as old boots ,if it was a newly planted one it may struggle .Time will tell ..
