Is is too late to prune some trailing fuschias which still have leaves on them?

I've just pruned mine to about an inch of a leaf node about half way down each stem. Probably not the right thing to do though.

I simply cut right down to the ground. Don't think it matters about cutting back to leaf nodes, etc.

If they are in the garden (hardy ones ) I cut these back in March.

Tender ones I cut back in September/October to one leaf above the last time it was stopped, I also take off all the leaves then as well. At the moment I have nice new growth on them and will be taking cuttings soon.

The ones in Llandudno are still in flowerr.. I wonder if they ever bother pruning them back! Then again they still have Pelargoniums still in flower there.. like a different world. I just leave mine until growth occurs.

our fuschia's only stopped flowering a few weeks ago! they've plenty of foliage on them still...can't waste a nice bit of greenery at this time of year so i'll be leaving them until next month to prune back. i have however pruned the one in the front garden this week as it was looking a bit tatty.:)
