    Hi,
I have a lilac shrub and I remember reading last year that there is a certain time to prune them to make them come back better next year.
I did last year and it was fab this year, but can't for the life of me think when I need to do it... if anyone could help that would be great

    Thanks

Well. The general "rule of thumb" is to prune right after flowering. But I've since found out that isn't true for every Shrub,(Weigalia?) being one. I'm sure Dai or walnut will trundle along to tell you properly.

No, that doesn't work. If you "Google" Syringa and look for the gardenaction site it tells you about pruning there.
