    Hi All,
Just thought I would let you all know that I harvested my pumpkins today. I managed two pumpkins from my three plants, they arent the biggest or the brightest orange (still slightly yellow) but I thought they were good for a first attempt lol. Looking forward to my pumpkin soup!
The smallest one weighs in at 1.5kg and measures 18inches all round and the biggest is 3.5kg and measures 26inches all round.
Hope everyone's plants are doing well.
Thankyou for all your help and advice
    Lucy X

Good result there Lucy, only got one decent size one, just over a foot across. Might have some small ones in the greenhouse, but cant get past the rampant tomato plants to check. Any way, they looked like pumpkins when I potted them up, just forgot what i'd planted

Well done Lucy! Not bad for a first attempt, you are hooked now.

I've got two decent sized pumpkins from 2 plants, big enough for carving for halloween.

Lucy, I have 2 pumpkins from 3 plants and it was my first attempt too.
I have pumpkin soup and sweet pumpking pie in mind.

I don't know if I should harvest them right now or leave them on the plants for a bit longer though.

    Hey Shobhna,

Best get them in now, they wont get any bigger with the frosts we're getting now.

I find pumpkin soup a bit too sweet, pumpkin & langoustine curry sounds a bit better though.

Pumpkin marmalade. yummy...just checked out some of the recipes.
I might need to buy extra pumpkins to do just that.

Ziggy, those little babies of mine are coming in out of the cold to-day, as soon as I get home.

I managed four pumpkins from two plants, not the biggest but good enough to give to my grandchildren for halloween.
