    I have just returned from being pampered to the extreme. To celebrate my attaining a certain age, we went to the West Coast of Portugal to Palmela, some 40kms south of Lisbon, and stayed at the pousada within the Castle of Palmela.

    View from our suite to the Sado Estuary where bottle-nosed dolphins breed with Setúbal on the coastline ...

    I will be putting other pictures up of the other castles and ancient buildings we visited under the title of Castles in the Air, but it may take a couple of days as I have some 350 photos to trawl through.

    Hi Slinky and welcome to GC. ... you may have joined whilst I was away on my incredible journey.

    I don't know but I think perhaps you are young and have many journies to go on and enjoy. You can follow mine here on GC in various threads if you so desire.

    I love life and I love beauty in the countryside around me and I like to share it with people I like .... those people are here on GC.

    Perhaps you'll tay around to enjoy this wonderful forum.
