As a newbie I am constantly puzzled by stuff I see in the garden.

First picture is taken of my potatoes. Weird. Not the usual flowers.

Second and third picture confuses me. In June the wind knocked over all my seedlings and I wonder if I have mixed stuff up. I thought these were butternut squash. I know what they look like in the supermarket but no idea when growing. Are these butternut squash? Got a shock today when going around cutting off dead leaves and saw this red bulge! Potatoes and Tomatoes are the same family hence why those potato fruit look very similar, however they are poisonous!

My potatoes have those too - I'd never seen them either so had to google it yesterday. They say every day is a school day & am certainly learning more about the garden this year than I ever have!

Ok - so I will water, feed and watch with interest.

How do butternut squash grow? How do I know they are ready? Is it just one squash per plant?

Eeeeeek - back out in the garden on Thursday. What will I find then?
