After lots of split tomatoes & Blossom end rote - followed the lead of many here and invested in 2 x Quadgrows and a double holiday watering system.

Crop in general seemed to be going OK .... but had still been having some blossom end rot - vastly reduced compared to previous years - but not eradicated which is the sales pitch.

I have 2 system connected to a Holiday Watering tank ... last week all 4 plants in 1 Quadgrow looked very dire ( I was away for 3 days)
    Holiday tank was full
But Quadgrow tank was dry ..... turns out roots had grown into the float valve and jammed it (plant suicide).

Anybody else had this problem ??

The whole of point of holiday watering kit is so it can be left - now it seems highly suspect.

The Quadgrow tank needs a baffle .... but GreenHouse sensations just advise it would cost too much.

Forum seems to have a bug and won't let me add any pictures

That's strange Sargan, greenhousesensation sent me a separate tank for the float. This was a modification they sent me because initially the roots were jamming the float when it was in the main reservoir.

I dont think a baffle would help much, tom roots tend to completely fill whatever space is available. I have 8 plants in a 200L chamber (no compost) and its almost completely full with roots, 25L of roots per 8ft plant ;)
