Hi, I purchased an Agastache Apricot this summer but towards the end of August it just seemed to die off! so I cut it to the ground In the hope that it will grow back up next Spring. Am I right or is it a goner? [IMG]

Cannot help with these, they just do not survive the winters here, certainly not outside any way. Have a gentle poke around and see if there are any green shoots just at or below ground level. Otherwise, it is a waiting game to see if it survives till spring. Maybe mulching heavily will help with frost protection.

Thanks Palustris, I dont hold much hope for it to be honest...waiting for my compost to mature then I will mulch with that.

Don't know about A. Apricot Sprite, but the purple one I have dies down in winter and comes up in spring having spread metres in all directions underground. It also self-seeds quite well. Leave it and see what happens I suppose.

Little surprised it should die off in August - I grow this from seed, and they are fine overwintering. All of mine are still in blossom, and have a good new floret of growth that will over winter.

Any chance that yours dried out in August?

I'm not sure how much hope I would hold out, but it is worth leaving until the spring. I'll check and see if I have any seed that I can send on.

Thanks Rumple. It shouldn't have dried out as I was watering frantically in the Summer! Great if you have some seeds though.
