I am not sure if I have posted this in the correct place but since it is technically a plant..... here goes!

I have been growing a Desert Rose so that I can sort of make it a 'bonsai'.

It is still young but should I be doing anything, such as root pruning or normal pruning, to it yet in order to keep it relatively small?

    Thanks in advance.

    It's Adenium obesum.
Not really a bonsai plant,it is basically a succulent from warmer parts.

I'd definitely not try using normal Bonsai methods when it comes to growing it.
Just let it get on with it and keep it warm.
It will not get bigger than a couple of feet tall after many years.

It forms a Caudex (large swelling) at its base which if often why it is suggested as a Bonsai, but it is not really a Bonsai candidate in the true meaning, or as I see it, ie. a hardy tree which is pruned to keep it small.
