      Hi @wiseowl .
About the beginning of Spring Mrs LWW bought an AEG T76280 AC. She says that it is the best dryer that she has ever had with more functions than enough. To answer your question it is very quiet, just a whooshing sound.
Because the noise aspect will be a problem for you couldn't you request testing a few once you have narrowed the choice down? After all I imagine that the very quiet ones won't be the cheapest and you do want to get it right the first time, also, what is a "whoosh" for one could possibly be loud for your daughter.
      Good luck with your search.

We've got a Bosch A++ rated one @wiseowl and it is fairly quiet. Ours is in an outhouse, and there is a small covered alleyway between the back kitchen door and the door of the outhouse - - with both doors open, you can only just hear it running; in the living room, we hear nothing from it.
