This is long, but exceptionally well written (even if you don't agree with all of it) in my opinion and I have to say there is many sentiments in there that I share as an ex-Labour party supporter and union contributor. The really sad thing is, it will almost certainly be ignored by the very people who should heed it and take note.

Live not by lies: my letter of resignation from the Labour Party

That is quite an indictment! Good for the writer who took the time to not go quietly :)

The shame about this resignation is that this is the very type of person that the public would be likely to get behind. :noidea:

Indeed. I think the vast majority of us are sick and tired of the fighting, sick and tired of the lies and sick and tired of seeing our public services in an utter state. If there was the will to do so, we could fix this country, but there are far too many vested interests nowadays in various pots, and that in turn leads to the bickering. I genuinely give up.

I think you only need to look at the amount of money that they have thrown at covid to realise all government's hold us back.

Why did we have rubbish services, why were people waiting years for surgery why are the armed services strapped for cash. The list goes on.

Apparently we were rolling in it.

I saw our local council's budget the other day - two thirds of the money raised in income goes on debt interest.... not repayments, interest.
