R. Phyllis Bide and similar roses for containers and as a standard.

    I've always loved this rose, partly because of the small double flowers which fade so attractively, partly because of its non-stiff habit, partly because of the scent.

    Last winter, just to see what would happen, I planted some in 70L containers, and so far they're thriving. What do you think will happen? I intend to prune them right down in winter.

    Graham Stewart Thomas (I think) mentions somewhere that they make good weeping standards. Does anyone know if there's a supplier anywhere?

    If not, can you suggest a rose which a lover of Phyllis might also love?
