The word on the allotments is that rabbits come in and eat everything. Anyone have any good rabbit deterrent ideas?

Well, if the rabbits CAN come in I think it is a fair bet that they will eat everything.

We have chicken wire netting round our veg patch:

(note that the "holes" are smaller than what you would use for chickens)

Some straining wire would be a good idea

and posts, staples and all the rest.

We have the whole garden netted AND within that we have the Veg patch netted, because the occasional rabbit gets through the outer fence (someone leaves a gate open, or they find a gap somewhere)

I doubt anything else will be very successful.

Netting is the only way as Kristen says, but sink it 6 inches into the ground and have about 2 ft ABOVE ground.:thumb:

When you sink it into the ground you also want to bend it horizontal for at least 6" as well so that there is a flat 6" of netting under the ground. Rabbits will dig down and try to get under obstructions but only try and do it alongside the obstruction. S oif they hit the netting underground and can't continue digging they just give up. :thumb:

    Good luck :)
