i had a few spare seed trays in my shed and so decided to sow some radish seeds in them. Does anyone know whether they will be deep enough for them to grow, or should I transplant when bid enough? They are globe type...I think. (I'm in bed now so can't go and check lol.)
    Thanks...

I've tried them in seed trays but not successfully, I think they do need more depth.

I've also tried them in seed trays without success, I reckon it was too difficult to keep them adequately watered in trays.

I love radishes , but found them very difficult . They grow so fast they turn from raw to woody overnight ! I would think a shallow seed tray would make the problems worse.

Thank you :-) I will make sure I transplant them when the time comes.

I'm not sure they will take to being transplanted? Might be a better bet to re-sow.

Personally I wouldn't try them in a seed tray. I never have done it before but I can imagine them needing much more depth.
You could try transplanting but I think it could discourage a strong root. Personally I'd re-sow.

Agree, all root type crops dislike being transplanted. They are so quick from seed, why bother?
