Raft Spider

    This adult and juvenile were at Arne RSPB today. It's the econd largest Spider in the UK, found in small pond in acidic soil areas, fens and bogs and feeds on tadpoles, small fish and other aquatic insects.
    Length was approx 2/3"

    I normally dislike spiders but they look rather sweet, as long as they stay on the pond and away from me :WINK1:

      I'm not big on spiders Aesculus but they do look fascinating...nice one:dbgrtmb:

      The Great Raft Spider, it's bigger relative is only found in the Fens, and can get to about 4/5" long!:smile:
