    Hiya Stingo!!

    Is it very heavy????

I was in Sainsburys this morning when a pretty bad thunderstorm hit. We had power failure, but the generators kicked in, and when I finally got out, the rain was, well, "pretty" heavy. Everyone was sheltering in the foyer, but I was parked really close by so I thought I'd chance it. Stupid idea!!!! It was like stepping into a shower fully dressed!!!! I have NEVER seen anything like it. I had a vest with a thin overshirt on, do I just ditched the overshirt. In some places of the carpark people had to paddle to their cars. In the car rain was running down my back where my hair was so wet. Every road was flooded on the way home. The thunder and ligtening wasn't all that spectacular, but, boy, the rain more than made up for it!!!!! By the time I had unloaded the car, I was drenched!! Just stripped off on the door mat and got a towel.... (I had closed the door - didn't want to frighten the neighbours!!!! :D :D ) It is still damp and a bit drizzly now, but thank goodness the heat and air has cleared!!!!!

This is just salt in the wounds! All that lovely wet stuff and its passing me by. Cool breeze amd lots of dark clouds but no rain. Looked at the Met Office website and played with the radar rainfall and satellite images. Great fun and it shows the rain clouds over the Midlands - but here in England's New Sahara - we stay dry. Not to worry, I've spent the afternoon cutting the long grass in the wild flower meadow. It smells so sweet and now it will be raked up and turned into compost

Send it this way! We have just had to buy hay in to feed the animals because the grass is so scorched and has stopped growing!
Yields of hay/silage are 20-50% down in some areas so it will be expensive this winter!

We had a light drizzle for a very short time about 4.00 p.m. Wind picked up but gone now. Grass is barely damp. I'll try the rain dance again!
