    HI
I have just started out Gardening with my Wife, :)
We have had a 8x6 greenhouse for a few years and have successfully grown Vegetables in pots but have decided to Expand.

I have Ordered 2 Raised beds 6ft x 3 ft and 14in deep and hope to get them set up in the next week or so,

I plan to fill them with Vegetable top soil from an online soil place

    Is this a good choice?

    Thanks
    Kev

Yes just be aware that topsoil quality varies, if possible look at a sample before ordering. The cheaper stuff can be very sandy.

Going to be doing the same this year, though probably just lettuce and maybe something else but have not decided yet.

I was going to fill my beds with a mixture of compost and cheap topsoil and hope for the best.

That would be an expensive route.

Hopefully the top soil will have plenty of nutrients and some organic matter so no need to add anything to begin with. Depends on the type of veg you intend to grow.

There's places that will do various mixes and deliver on a tipper lorry. It tends to be cheaper. I got a few tonnes of topsoil mix (topsoil blended with their brand compost) to start me beds off this year

I bought a bulk bag of so called veg compost last year, think it was around £80 or so.
I just used it as a soil improver but it was intended to be used for growing plants as it was.
It wasn't potting compost, too lumpy for that.
