I've just bought some very nice, colourful ranunculus for 50p a pot from my local florist. I believe they are perrenial plants. Can anybody advise on how to treat after flowering, type of soil required etc.?

Jack, you are better off using them as annuals if you do want to try keeping them you should pot them up when they`ve finished flowering and overwinter them under cover.

Thanks, David, for the advice. I suppose if my local florist continues to sell them at 50p each it's hardly worth bothering with trying to keep them. Nevertheless, just as an experiment, I might try to do so with one or two of the most attractive ones. As Kathy says, they are really lovely flowers.

I ditto Kathy, so in future I'll only use them as annuals.

    Thanks David.
