Raspberries & blackberries

Hi all, my dad has bought me a raspberry Cain and a blackberry plant, bless him, anyway seen as they are both single plants does anyone have any thoughts on how I should plant these, I was going to plant them both together in a massive container I have fill with compost and place a couple of canes in for supporting them as they grow, what do you think ? Would they work well together ? Or do I need to separate them both?

 

Septate would be best give them room to grow , they will be ok in the container maybe for two years but I think better planted in the garden than pots

Blackberries need looking after to keep them under control, they grow girt long stems that will flop over & form a new root where it touches the ground, so keep your eye on it.

If the Rasberry & the Blackberry have sex, they'll make Loganberries

You won't get a meal off a single Raspberry cane, you need several (and if you get any fruit in the first year its a bonus)
