A while ago I asked about my raspberries throwing out suckers/shoots a few feet away from the canes and coming up in the middle of my flower bed ... now I love flowers but I also love rasps ... so what to do ?? Dig up the flowers and let the canes grow and get mores rasps, or pull out the rasps and enjoy the flowers ??

Not really because the canes will grow tall and then send out more suckers and they will just overtake the flowers ... anyway if left the canes will fall over as too far from the fence to tie in supports ... will have to follow them back to the 'mother' cane and cut them off I guess .... never thought the original 2 canes would send out these so far away from the originals ...

Thats the trouble with raspberries they need their own space.
Its often a good idea to dig up the old stems and replant the more vigous parts every few years.
I found that they very quickly get infected with virus which leads to smaller and less fruit.
So a replant with new stock can quite often make a big difference.
