    Hi All
I have cut off the old canes from my raspberries that I planted last year and the new canes are now about 5 foot high should I cut these back or tie them in as the wind is blowing them about quite a lot???

Stout posts periodically down the row, with horizontal wires, and tie the new canes in to the wires.

My preference is to put Tee cross bars on the posts, so the wires are out-bound from the posts, tie the canes to that, and then next years canes can grow up the middle whilst the older, fruiting, canes are trained at an outward angle, and their fruit dangle down and are more easily picked - and without the newly forming canes getting in the way.

    Well, that's the theory!
