    Hi All

I bought a Raspberry bush last by year from Woolworths and it has grown quite well do I need to do anything to it this year?? I did read somewhere that you should cut it down to ground level that seems a shame after it has grown so well!!

Dave, If it's a summer fruiting variety then you should cut down all the canes that have borne fruit after picking and then tie in the new unfruited growth which will provide the crop for next season. If you have the plants supported you should in February cut the tops down to with about 6" of the top support i.e. to a height of about 5'6".

If you are growing an autumn fruiting variety cut down ALL canes in February and then tie in the new canes as they grow.
