I have a few raspberry canes that are really growing wild but I don't want to get rid of them completely as I had a good amount of fruit from them this year. Trouble is that they are now growing around a small wooden planter that I made some few years ago and which I might add, is not very stable so I don't want to disturb if I can help it. (Has strawberries growing in it as well)
What I want to know is..if I just pull the wandering canes out can I then replant them?

Hi Jasmine welcome, you would do well to follow the errant canes down under the ground and along a little way, then cut it off there as then you should get a nice bit of rooted runner, however I would hold on as long as possible in this hot weather, as it will need to re-establish and it will struggle for moisture.

Thanks pamsdish but the runners are going under the planter so tracing them would be practically impossible. I was wondering if I can pull the out would they grow if they are then replanted?

Yes, if you just pull off the stalk with no root attached it hasn't got a chance. However, you would at least clear a space around your planter if you pulled them off. The raspberries will come up again next year, probably even worse, so will need to be dealt with firmly at some point by digging them up- this autumn would be the best time as they'd transplant easily then.
