Just a quickie.I have just received in post a Honeysuckle which is growing well but in a 9cm pot.Due to having to prepare soil & bit of repairs to fence I do not think I will be planting it for around 3-4 weeks.
It does not look pot bound but wondering if any advantage in re-potting up to next size pot for that short period to give roots chance to grow?? Not sure if disturbing it twice, once for re-potting and once for planting would be detrimental over planting it straight into ground when time arises.
    Thanks for any input.

As long as you think it will come clean out of the pot without disturbing the roots it should be ok to re pot it. It depends how long its been in the pot at the nursery, I guess if its in such a small pot then its been grown from a seed or cutting in that pot rather than been potted up so you should be alright.

    Hi

Leave in pot if its only a couple of weeks you wont gain anything and like you said any new roots you may damage.

A 9cm pot for a honeysuckle sounds tiny to me I'm afraid ... I'd want to grow it on a fair bit from that size before planting it out.

    Hi Kristen

Tottaly agree it is small, and you would need to keep a eye on it so it doesnt get swamped by other plants and keep it watererd, deffo grow on in a larger pot.

90mm pot, thats nearly 4inches, its a bit small, but I doubt much root action is taking place right now so I cant see any benefit in repotting.
I think honeysuckle is a bit on the tough side, so I'd just plant out in about April.
