I need some advice here, about re-potting an old rose.

The rose in question is over 60 years old, 'Maidens Blush'. As far as I am aware it has always been in a pot. The current pot is a plastic bucket, which is donkeys years old, and you have only to breath on it for a bit of it to disintegrate. This rose has buds on it at the moment, which hopefully will blossom soon, for its once a season display. Can I re-pot it as soon as they go over, or will it be better to wait until say November, to do it and any other advice welcome.

    Cheers - grumpy :please:

THats an old rose isnt it woo? Pre 1400? If the pots disentergrating I would get two people and the new pot ready get one to hold the rose and the other to remove the old pot then disturb the roots as little as possible and lift the whole think into new pot pronto. I would do it now whilst the weather is mild. What do u think woo? 60 years wow what a treasure
