    WP_001607.jpg Hi guys

Any ideas on what to plant in this area of the garden. It's very dry because it's under the Verbena but still quite sunny. Help!

so much choice Yvonne, if me I would plant just the one variety and have a good solid block rather than go for "bitty" planting ie a bit of this and a bit of that, I would also take in to account its next to a path so with you and the Cocker Spaniel that it woudnt get in the way and also its a sunny spot and dry.

      My choice is :
      Dryopteris erythrosora
      Japanese shield fern

Lobelia tupa prefers it a bit on the dry side once established. Can get big though, but a real centrepiece. This year.................

hi again. Thanks for the ideas guys, I should have explained in a little more detail. The colour theme I have at the moment is purples pinks and white in a type of cottage garden style so it would need to tie in with that. IMG_1641 (2) (800x533).jpg

Also, I've started a "woodland" area with ferns, Bluebells and London Pride so the empty bed would have to flow into this area. I've thought about Lavender but I do already have quite a bit and wanted to try something different.

Maybe extend this and add more ferns?

Finally it have to be suitable for this fierce creature
