I love frecycle for picking up plants and other bits and bobs for the garden. This last week I have picked up 8 pieces of railway sleeper, all exactly 2ft in length and nicely weathered but with no rot (not sure what to do with them just yet :snork: ~ suggestions welcome  ), 3 bird boxes, a quality hose pipe on a reel, a 3ft horse chestnut tree (which I may donate to a local school or park) and a large bag of unopened bark chips..:dbgrtmb:

Hi catz, mostly the Beeston or Ilkeston ones or Vale Royal in Cheshire where I used to live; my mum still does so she picks the stuff up there and brings it with her when she visits :dbgrtmb:

Ooh lucky you.. It seems to be mainly kids stuff & furniture round here, but I always have a look to see if there is anything I cannot resist....
My friend in Willenhall gets great stuff, she has furnished her garden room all with stuff from freecycle & I can't wait to see it & what eclectic mix she has... She also gets rid of lots of stuff on there as well & is a "committed freecycler".....

Think I will have to sign up to freecycle and try to be first in the Willenhall one.

I got a Belfast sink and four folding chairs today.
Last week about twenty 12 to 20cm terracotta pots and a new bag of cactus compost, a seminar table for the g/house and about 200 plastic pots of assorted sizes.

One man's muck is another man's treasure.
Envy is what you have given me Bilbo, I really need to see what others are throwing away and see if there is a creation to be had.
Keep it up and we all maybe on the free grab a bargin.

You are requested to offer something yourself once in a while
or it all becomes take take take
The recognised currency is a large bar of chocolate otherwise

Never given away any chocolate :snork:  but we have given away dozens of excess plants (veg seedlings etc) that would otherwise be composted as well as unwanted household items...:dbgrtmb:

Had a really good Freecycle Friday today!

Just collected 600litres of coarse vermiculite and a wheatgrass germinator. Basically, it is just a very expensive (£80 expensive!) stackable version of the cheap windowsill propagators that you can buy.........
