Yep! Can't remember the brand but was bought cheap off ebay and is bright green... OK if you're not going to be using it for strimming fields and the charge seems pretty good and stores well in the battery if not in use.
Same advice as always - buy the best you can afford at the time as [generally] the cheaper the power tool the quicker it falls apart. I'm estimating mine to break in about 5 years.

Try and get one with a Lithium-Ion battery (Li-on) they don't lose their charge or have a memory, plus best of all they charge fast - (with the right charger) 80% in 30 mins

    Thanks for that Banana man

It could be a B&D from B&Q then. No power on the allotment I share so one of these will be great.

when i saw the title was going to suggest the ryobi to you, their one for all range means the same battery is used in all their battery tools, from strimmers to sanders to drills, i have a drill and no complaints, was planning on getting a strimmer that can use the same batteries

    Hi All

Gosh have you seen the price of the Li-on batteries, I nearly fell out of my chair.

Now the question is do I really need Li-on or a li down (after that shock)

Thanks for all the replies & advice

Well at last the strimmer has arrived, I bought the Ryobi rechargeabl with the LI ion batteries.

Only used it once (today) brilliant not as powerful as a petrol strimmer but excellent for what I want

Thanks for all the advice and help
