Some of you will know I have recently had some new fencing/gate installed. With the timber from the old set I have spent some time today cutting enough timber to make two 18" planters which should look good in the new front garden layout.

I printed off a lovely plan for a potting bench if you could find a bit more wood and do get stuck for an idea

Thanks Pam, now if I ever fancy a week in South wales......

    18" Planter update:
Now all assembled and awaiting a fresh coat of treatment.
I think a coat or two of green should it.

Looking good :) How have you done the bottoms ?

OH was planning on building some this year but we kinda got sidetracked! We werent sure how to do the bottoms, whether to line them or insert plastic pots.

What are you planning on doing ?

First thought was to use pots but we have a change of plan.
We are going to line with the thickest plastic sheeting we can find.
Making sure we still have drainage.
There is plenty of spaces in the bottom planks for this.
The wood is allready pressure treated and has the original protective brown coat. I reckon a couple of good coats of green should see them good for many years.
