    No, it is new growth and absolutely flourshing.

    New fern growth often starts red and goes green later. Enjoy it :D

    is Pieris Japonica a member of the fern family?i have one that does the same thing. [​IMG]

    Pieris japonica is not a fern, it is a hardy evergreen flowering shrub. Its young leaves are reddish. Pteris is bracken so perhaps that's the name confusion [​IMG]

    I just planted this baby one which does the same.

    This one has put out most of this years fronds and they have all now gone green. One of the most interesting ferns for colour change I think, not that I can recall the name.
