    Hi all,

I have a fence panel that Ideally needs to be painted in the next month or so. The problem is I have a great big Red Robin planted in front of it! (roughly 3 metre wide by 2 metres tall) I will need to prune the Red Robin right back. Can some one let me know when is the best time of year to prune it as I really don't wish to harm the shrub. If I need too I can paint the fence after this time.

    Thanks

    Greg

Best to prune late march/april although you can trim throughout growing season. If you prune nowthe new shoots will get damaged over winter.

Thanks Loofah - In that case I'll paint the fence in mid March.

    Cheers

Greg, a plant does what you want it to do, I`d cut it back now. And protect the fence for the bad weather.:thumb:
